Agri-x
Back to homeTechnical overview

How Agri-x is built.

An open, standards-based traceability stack. Below the friendly first-mile app sit four modular KITs that make the data trustworthy, portable and sovereign.

Architecture at a glance

Agri-x is built on Eclipse Tractus-X and FarmOS. It combines Asset Administration Shells (AAS), a Decentral Digital Twin Registry (DTR), and on-chain hash anchoring on EVM to deliver end-to-end traceability for fibers, timber and grains.

The four KITs

Agriculture Industry Core KIT

Baseline tracing of bulk materials using Digital Twins (AAS), the Decentral Digital Twin Registry (DTR) and the Item Relationship Service (IRS). Built on the SAMM AgriBatch aspect model.

Data Trust KIT

EVM smart contracts anchor Keccak-256 hashes of every batch event on-chain. Records become immutable and independently verifiable — without exposing sensitive business data.

FarmOS custom data module

A Drupal module that extends FarmOS with the fields required by GS1 and premium/organic compliance, turning FarmOS into a first-class source of truth.

FarmOS EDC connector

A second Drupal module that turns a FarmOS instance into an Eclipse Dataspace Connector node, so cooperatives keep sovereignty over how their data is shared inside Tractus-X.

Why this stack wins

Open standards, not lock-in

SAMM, AAS, DTR, IRS, EDC — the same standards Catena-X uses for automotive. No proprietary schemas.

Sovereign by design

Every cooperative runs its own EDC node. Data is shared under contract, not surrendered to a platform.

Verifiable without exposure

On-chain hash anchoring proves integrity without publishing business-sensitive payloads.

Offline-first first mile

A PWA with local queue + conflict-free sync closes the gap where competitors fail: real farms with real connectivity.
